Sunday PM in Review
What a blessed message we had from our missionary Walter Stevens this past Sunday night. The message was from First Chronicles chapter twelve and verse thirty-two; and it was about Christians understanding the times in which we live. The Lord used him greatly to speak to me personally about evaluating how we are spending the time we have. He had three basic points:
1. Consider the time – Romans 13:11 – 12
2. Consider that the lost need to be saved – “now is the accepted time”
3. Put God first in everything and in all things – Colossians 1:16 – 18, I Corinthians 7:29 – 31
One of the final verses that he mentioned is difficult to swallow for many people, but the verse serves to emphasize the Priority that Christ and His mission should be in our lives. It is I Corinthians 7:29, “But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none…” Bro. Stevens proceeded to give the following quote: “Sacrifice is giving up something you love for something you love more.”
