Psalms 8:3-4 – When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

His Name is Excellent

This song begins and ends pointing to the excellent Name of our Lord. His Name is above the Heavens. When His creation is considered, we must think of the greatness of our God and His mind. With all that He is and with all that He considers, why or how could He be mindful of us?

Jesus Christ Became Flesh

It is not hard to understand when we consider that the answer is in the same text. This is a prophecy of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 2:7 – 9)! God considers us. Christ thought NOT of Himself when He took upon Himself the form of a Servant. In His humiliation we have current exaltation, for we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus; and we have hope of future eternal glorification because we know that when we see Him, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Jesus Christ is of Supreme Worth

This song is really about Christ, and all we are is in and through Him. To the unbeliever, I ask that you turn from your sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. To the believer, consider that all you are or have before God is in Christ. Christ is of supreme worth!
