Hope…God Cannot Lie
Titus 1:2 says, “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;”
Eternal life is a present possession that is gained the moment one turns from his sin to the Savior. Jesus told Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.” The hinge of the great door is the truth that God cannot lie! God made a promise before the world began, which means that all we know presently about eternal life is by God’s revelation in His Word. The hope of eternal life was established by God before there ever was any creation. This is hard to be understood, yet this points to the eternality of our God. He has always been! He has proven His own existence and continues to do so, and He will always be. Simply put: HE IS. The hope is based upon the promise of God, and the strength of the promise is in the fact that He CANNOT lie! What hope!
