Here is a brief list of books that you may consider acquiring and reading.

The following reading list are mainly devotional and light reading.  A follow up list with study books and ministry-related books is forthcoming.

Recommended reading list:

• The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah  by Alfred Edersheim – This book gives great insight into the life of Christ and His ministry.  It gives more meaning to the stories primarily given in the Gospels.

• Knowing God by J.I. Packer is a classic that causes you to really think much more about your relationship with the Lord.
• Power through Prayer by E.M. Bounds revolutionized my personal prayer life.  There is a series by Bounds, but this particular pamphlet is very helpful.
• The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer is fantastic and causes you to want to know the Lord more.
• The Names of God by Andrew Jukes is a study that shows how when you see certain names in Scripture, they help you to understand the Lord better.
• They Found the Secret by Raymond Edman is a great book that gives you brief biographical information about many whom the Lord used.  It primarily focuses on the time when they became more aware of the Lord’s presence in their lives.
• Abide in Christ and Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray.  Amazing books that develop a greater awareness of God’s presence and our response to Him.
• Christ, the Sum of All Spiritual Things by Watchman Nee
• Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan
• Already Gone by Britt Beemer and Kenn Ham.  This is more fitting to today’s day and age.
• Foxe’s Book of Martyrs by John Foxe.
• The Case for Easter by Lee Strobel.  He was a former Atheist that was converted.
• The Unfolding Drama of Redemption by Graham Scroggie.  This one may be good to read along side of your Bible study.
• Spurgeon, Prince of Preachers by Lewis Drummond.  This is probably the best biography I have read on Spurgeon.
• Bush Aglow by Richard Elsworth Day.  This is the biography of D.L. Moody.
• Borden of Yale by Taylor.  This is the biography of William Borden.
• The Normal Christian Life by Watchman Nee
• Just Friends by Cary Schmidt
• Whatever Happened to Worship by A.W. Tozer
• Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand
