Don’t trust your heart!
What a great Proverb for today and for this day and age. Proverbs 28:26 says, “He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” Wow! That is pretty clear. To trust in the guidance of our own heart is to be a fool. Remember, the “fool” is the same individual who says “in his heart” that there is no God. So, rather than taking anyone else’s advice on life, why not take God at His Word?
We are to trust in the Lord with all our heart (Proverbs 3:5). Our heart will mislead us and cause us to seek SELF in all that we do. This is nothing less than making ourselves, our wants, our own desires to become as gods in our lives. So the real question is, “Who is your God/god?” Who or what you confide in will reveal the answer to this question.
